This 1940s-era ranch style home’s kitchen was small, divided and had limited windows to see the exterior views. The cabinets were made of outdated wood, the countertops- a drab mauve tile, and the lighting was dim and limited. The bathroom of this home was also outdated and more standard in its design. The clients wanted more light and an updated, more modern aesthetic.
To open up the kitchen, the laundry room adjacent to the kitchen was moved to another location within the home and the layout was redesigned. MAK added more functional space including countertops, cabinets, and storage. Lighting was increased and enhanced by adding modern fixtures and more windows. The bathroom was updated and the layout was improved to create a brighter, more interesting design. Storage and increased lighting was added as well to finish off this light, bright bathroom and kitchen remodel.
