This remodel was a custom home, built in the 1980s and in desperate need of an update. The owner’s children took over the home and contacted MAK to update it. The house was neglected and in need of repair; there were awkward spaces and outdated materials and finishes. The clients wanted to create a more family-friendly and updated home.
MAK added many design solutions to create the client’s dream home. First, MAK created an accessible bar and a smoother flow between the kitchen and living spaces. The design celebrated an inside/ outside aesthetic that brought a feeling of the outdoors, in. The fixture selections kept the design fun and many of the elements added energy, life, and vibrancy to the home. MAK reconfigured the staircase, rebuilt the existing windows and sliding door for improved insulation, leak repair, and energy performance, and reconfigured the existing music room into a play room. The existing enclosed patio was incorporated into the home as well to create a more livable and updated space. Now, this home is updated and family friendly!
MAK firmly believes that a successful remodel depends on good planning and communication from the get-go. From the moment you call about your proposed remodel all the way through its completion, we guide you through the process…. See more
