Sales + Marketing Coordinator

Vivi

Vivi is the Sales + Marketing Coordinator for MAK Design & Build - which means she's the person in charge of making sure, both internally and externally, that MAK is a positive, productive force in the lives of MAK’s community. She manages all things client-facing while also providing support for the transition of a project from sales to design. Vivi works to ensure that prospective clients are made aware of MAK's system and processes as well as the many benefits of working with a design + build firm. She also helps coordinate projects in their early stages, working with clients to ensure their goals are outlined in the early project planning phase. Prior to joining MAK, she graduated from UC Berkeley, where she received a BA in Political Science and minors in both Education and Global Poverty & Practice. She is also pursuing her Master’s degree in Social Work. She has a passion for people and believes in the power of storytelling, which is what she loves about seeing a project from conception to completion and her client-facing role. She has previously worked in marketing and program management for multiple non-profits and public sector organizations, as well as a public affairs forum. She brings her skills from each of those sectors to her work at MAK.

Her favorite part of working for MAK is being able to participate in the company she grew up alongside - as she is Ken & Ellen's daughter! Vivi loves the whole MAK team and is proud to work for her parents, whom she sincerely admires and enjoys. She has quite literally been with the company since the beginning and knows the voice and values of MAK in a way very few do.

When not at work, she can be found training for her next marathon or triathlon, getting the house ready for a dinner party, convincing friends to play one more round of Monopoly Deal, or working on her latest craft project (current fixations include block printing and sewing new clothing pieces from patterns).

  • Both? Neither? I have a track record of being in sleep debt because there are too many great things to do in a day!

  • As a kid, I loved climbing trees, running around in any kind of sport, and musical theater.

  • My favorite book is, "Tiny Beautiful Things" by Cheryl Strayed. Every time I read it a new essay sticks out to me.

  • The best concert I have ever been to was a Hozier concert at the Greek Theater in Berkeley. Absolutely mezmorizing!
