The owners of the 90’s tract home were looking for a way to grow and modernize to fit the needs of their young family. Their living, dining, and kitchen areas were all lumped together in one “great room” which left much space to be desired. The family wanted a new space that could adapt to serve many functions- as an additional living room and play area for the kids, or as an entertainment area with a bar for drinks, or even as a comfortable room for overnight guests.

Together we created a solution that meets all of their needs and opens up the possibility for many more. By adding a 415 square foot addition to the back of their house, we were able to create a multifunctional “rec room” complete with a bar, custom murphy bed, double-sided fireplace and a full wall of windows connecting the space to the backyard. We also custom-built rolling wooden shutters for the back patio which help screen the home when needed.
