Into the Blue

Before + After

The Program

The homeowners of this two-story 1990s home came to MAK wanting to update the exterior of the home. They wanted their home's facade to be contemporary and dynamic, emphasizing clean lines. Materials and color selections were made based on what sparked joy since they wanted to be happy when they arrived home every day. With this in mind, they opted for a red cedar accent around the entry to create warmth and dual blue solid core doors with glass panels for a fun pop of color.

Compliment Magnet

The home's neighborhood requires that mailboxes be freestanding near the sidewalk so MAK custom-designed a striking mailbox made of powder-coated steel and the same red cedar that is used as an accent on the home's exterior. To minimize bulky applied trim, MAK used the Artisan V-Groove material from the Aspyre Collection by James Hardie for most of the siding. This material was selected because it is sturdy enough to have its edges mitered creating perfect corners that don't need to be covered with applied trim. A metal standing seam roof was installed both for the clean lines it provides and its durability. The result is a home that neighbors regularly stop to admire and homeowners who have a newfound pride in their home!
